Hello all,
Hope you guys are doing well!! Right now we are in Goa, India working in a specific slum each day. There are many different things that are going on in this slum. First, there is a man who is starting up a clinic. It’s been open for about 2 weeks now so there is a lot that needs to be done to organize how it will be ran. The building that was available for the clinic is a small cement building, but there has been a lot of use out of it so far. Secondly, in the clinic, there is a nutrition program for the little kids and then for the women in the community. Here, many people gather in the little room to hear what we prepare for them to hear about nutrition, and the Lord. They all bring a cup with them, so that after they hear something about nutrition, they can come up and get a cup full of this milk with vitamins in it. We all take turns teaching about nutrition, and then adding stories for the little kids. Each week, half of us will be helping with the clinic and half with a pre school in the community, then we’ll switch weekly. We also help with the stitching class for the women. A few nights ago two women who work in the preschool, and a pastor at a local church, and a girl from my team and I went visiting people, home to home to see if they had anything we could pray for. I was amazed at what the slum looked like once we started going in and out of the tiny cement pathways. There was laundry hanging all over, little kids running around together, garbage, and dogs running in these little paths. There would be one family’s home that we’d visit, then walk literally 3 steps to the next door. It’s was a blessing to meet more people individually and talk with them about what they’d like pray for, then be able to pray for them about it! They are amazing people. Thanks so much for keeping us in your thoughts and prayers, miss you all!
Much love,
Lindsay
