The Comfort Zone Bubble

So, apparently I have this bubble that I have created around myself. A zone of comfort. Being here in India has certainly popped (and shall I say rather abruptly) that circle of comfortability. I have had to do things that I would never want to do. When we were in B-lore, this man came to teach us how to tell stories. This may sound very strange at first, as strange as it was to my own ears. However, stories are very important to the Indian culture. He taught us how to intertwine our stories with the B-ble. Then the hard part came. He told us that we would be venturing out into Bangalore to tell people our stories. Yeaaaaahh….I was like uhhh, say what?! I am not much of an evan-eliser. It is just not something that I am good at or enjoy doing. Anyways, we partnered up with a buddy (buddy system at all times. don’t worry parents! Side note: Sorry parents that we haven’t been able to contact you. Just know that we are all alive and well. Continue to pray for your daughters and teammates. No one has gotten sick or hurt. Well, I think I broke my toe but thats okay, it happens.
okay…so this was posted without my wanting it to because I had to split early before I was finished.

I was with Kelli and Jess. We decided to first go to the hospital that was within our compound. When we walked in, I saw a woman and her daughter (ADORABLE daughter really). I decided to go awkwardly start a conversation using her daughter as a ice breaker. I found out that the mother’s name was Sarah (not real name, but replacement for security reasons) and that she was a Chr-stian. She told me that her husband and her are in ministry and transfer every 3 years to a different place in order to start churches and help out in the community. She was such an inspiration to me! Here we are, India. A very spiritually dark place.  A place where it feels as if there is no hope. However, the L-dawg really is moving! He’s moving through people like Sarah! That really opened my eyes and encouraged me beyond belief. We exchanged emails and went on our seperate ways. Jess and I decided to go to the little shop on the corner that was down the street. I saw these two girls that looked about my age. I decided to use Chai tea as an ice breaker. I really did want some chai so it was perfect! We struck up a conversation. I found out that they were seniors in high school and were just finishing up a project. Their names were Sasha and Tina. Somewhere in any conversation here in India, it always swings to where we are from. Who knew that we were not native Indians? It could be that I resemble a white snow man or maybe it’s my blue eyes. Meh…who knows. 🙂 So the conversation settled on the States. Sasha said that Tina was actually studying in the States in August. My heart started to beat fast. Before, Tina even said where, I knew. Tina then proceeded to say that she was going to school in Columbia near St. Louis. DING DING! Yes, ladies and gentlemen…that is where I go to school. This girl whom I met at a random store in INDIA is going to my school next year. She does not know anyone! Yeah, if that’s not ordained by the Man Upstairs then i do not know what is. So moral of this blog. If I did not force myself out of my little zone of comfort, I would not have met Tina and Sarah. Two random encounters that were planned from the beginning of time. Yes, the L-dawg does truly know everything! So STEP OUTSIDE OF THOSE ZONES! See what blessings He pours into your laps.
