Mid-Trip Debrief: Agra

Ever felt weak, tired and nauseous but you still have to get up at 4:00am to leave the house by 5:00am to catch a train? No? That was my situation to start our debrief trip! For some reason my stomach was not feeling great at all and hadn’t been for a few days prior to this trip. I was in the midst of physical spiritual warfare. Needless to say, my travel day was a little on the rough side. Yet, the overall travel day for the team went very smooth. How about walking 4 kilometers in 90 plus degree weather wearing a Punjabi outfit to the Taj Mahal. Have you ever done that? Still no?...

Prayer is powerful

Today my heart aches, but not like it use to. Today my heart breaks and cries out for the people of this world who choose to make their life theirs. I want to share with you this little girl’s story in hopes that she will receive your prayers.             Bright eyed and all smiles, she stands boldly staring the world in the eyes. At all of ten years old, Raelynn falls to her knees in tears. Today this little girl takes on the weight of her mother as her grandmother sits her down and explains to her that...

No Greater Love

This past week was our mid-trip debrief.  We took the week off from ministry & headed to Agra City for four days.  We used this time to rest, regroup, spend time together, and process the last month and a half and talk about how we wanted to grow and see God move over the next month.  Although it was nice to get away from the routine for a couple days, I was very excited to get back to Dwarka, which now feels like home. We experienced a lot of firsts in Agra.  Squatty potties on an Indian train, Indian’s following us around with cameras & phones taking our...

A Walk Through the Door!!

All it takes is opening your ears to hearing the Lord and doing what He wants you to do. Well that is exactly what happened in the slums a few weeks ago. It’s hard for me to follow a structured schedule, but God is teaching me that He will show up no matter if it’s structured or not. You can have your day planned out and have all these things that are on your “agenda” for the day, but what good is it if you’re not listening to the Lord and bringing the kingdom at all times everywhere you go. My favorite question of the day is asking...

Big Creator, Personal Savior

“The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to preach good news to the poor.  He has sent me to bind up the broken hearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners.”  Isaiah 61:1  My heart is for the unloved, those who feel rejected and unworthy to receive any love and relational evangelism is one of my favorite ways of reaching people. Therefore, loving on the outcasts of society by spending time and building friendships with them is why I was most excited about the ministry in the leper...

A Prayer Request

This is going to be a little short, but it is something that needs to be said. There are four children, all siblings, that are dropped off near the leper colony each day because their parents need to go to work all day.  Their ages range from about six years to eight months, give or take.  There are three girls and one boy, the boy being the youngest. The first thing we noticed, is that they are extremely filthy, covered head to foot with dirt and grime.  Their clothes, I don’t know when they were washed last.   Only recently have they been coming over when we are...
