Slums: courage over fear

“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9  As we begun our 2 hour drive to the slums, we had a chance to experience the fast pace of India traffic and large metropolitan buildings. In contrast, we also saw flat farming fields, mud huts, make shift tent homes, herds of buffalo and pigs. To venture so far away from the house was terrifying.               A woman blinded by the darkness, lost because of the enemy and broken hearted found hope for her 3 day old daughter Tavitha at the Asha house. My team has now spent 3 days at the Asha house and have had a great time, teaching English and getting to know the children. but there was one little girl in particular that had me hooked day one. there was just one problem, she did not like foreigners! Tavitha want to play with all the other children and be apart of everything but she did not want you to...
