If you were to ask me what I thought about India I would respond with how beautiful the woman here are. It breaks my heart to see such lost and empty eyes upon such beautiful faces and the burden of hopelessness which they all carry on their backs. There is no doubt this is a dark and oppressed nation, and nation over-throne by idols and full of empty vain worship. My heart breaks to know that the majority of these peoples prayers are not being heard for they pray to a god who cannot hear, they offer offerings to nobody, yet among such brokenness I am reminded of Gods very words, “My word will never return void.” If there is anything to hope in it is this, that I serve a God who’s word will never return void therefore our team has much purpose for being here, and much to hope in. I sit next to a muslim woman who each day in sowing class is hearing the truth of God’s word, there is a believer down the street who is encouraged daily by team members who read scripture to her because she herself cannot read…it is the only bible she hears, Hindu children hear the team speak of the One and Only God daily, and prayers to the One and Only God resound in the slums each day. There is much hope my friends and much to hope in!
