For India…
Lord, I know you have the power to bring…
JUSTICE for the oppressed
FREEDOM for those bound in chains
STRENGTH for the downtrodden
REVELATION and SIGHT for those that are blind
RESTORATION on broken homes
PEACE for those that seek it
HEALING on the sick
SALVATION, SALVATION that they might know that you are God alone…
This week our team has been focusing on worship and prayer during our personal team time. We have spent every evening after ministry and dinner either lifting praises to our God or lifting prayers up in a specific way led by some of or teammates. One of the nights, our team prayed for India in a way that only team India would pray…we wrote our prayers on fruit leaves and threw them off our balcony. Into the darkness. Into the land. Towards the people. It was a late, cool evening like any other evening we’ve had, except we were lifting up prayers on fruit leaves and announcing declarations over India. It may seem silly to some, but it was a very creative way of prayer that I know made the Lord smile. A lot. And it was in a very carefree matter that matched the very personality of our team. More than that, it was very symbolic. Throwing our fruit leaf prayers into the darkness with full hope and expectation that the Lord would answer them. Though we don’t know where it will go, or when it would land, the Lord knows exactly what He will bring about in this land. He knows every leaf that falls and knows the heart of these people more.
As our last few weeks fly past us, I know the Lord will bring so much in the time of come. We have already seen much of the Lord’s healing in Goa, right in our very front yard….
One of our dear friends here on the beach was diagnosed with active TB. It was very much TB, as she was tired all the time and even to the point that she was coughing up blood. She is a believer and had gotten to the point in her sickness that she was completely relying on the Lord for strength to get through this time, since she is the sole provider for her family like many of the women on the beach. But at the same time she was at total peace because she knew where she was going and where her hope lay. On Wednesday morning last week, the morning after our night of prayer, she set out to the doctor’s office but was in high spirits. For the first time in a long while she felt wonderful and went to the doctor’s with the attitude of, “I feel great today!” and when she got the results of her testing, a great burden was lifted off of her. All her recent tests were negative across the board. The TB in her body was completely cleared and our dear friend is completely healed! This is a great testimony to both her mother and especially her husband who does not know the Lord. This woman’s father also had died of TB so this was a sickness that her family was very fearful of and yet the Lord showed that He has the power to take this sickness away. He has the power to bring healing to this family in more ways than one. And we are praying that this miracle is way that the Lord softens the heart of her mother and especially her husband who is an alcoholic and very abusive.
I know the Lord is bringing things like this into India for a reason. And I know what the Lord can do in India. I know what the power that the Lord has not only in this land but across the world. And I know what He has declared over these people that will be brought by His power…
