When you go on a mission trip to a foreign country, your mind is focused on the people there. The locals. It caught me off-guard when my team met two foreigners here in Calcutta. Chris, from London, and Kara, from Italy. They were traveling together through India. We met them at a school we taught at. They were really genuine people, a bunch of fun. I especially enjoyed getting to know Chris. First off, british accents are awesome, and his humor meshed really well with our own.
Who knew that while in India, we would be able to connect to people from London and Italy. God works in awesome and mysterious ways. Unfortunately Chris and Kara left today, and I feel like I could have been more bold in telling them about Jesus. I was actually pretty torn up about it. My heart was not satisfied when I saw them turn the corner.
I took it to God, and I got a word from Him: “Your failures cannot frustrate my plan, but do not miss the lesson here. This is how it feels when you miss an opportunity (to share the gospel). Be bold, not ashamed. Now go be bold for Me.” After some tears were shed, I felt so invigorated and motivated. It is crazy how God can shape and mold us through our short-comings.
I will continue to pray for Chris and Kara. I pray that the seeds we planted in them will be continually watered with the Spirit, and that their soil will be fertile. I ask that you join me in doing so. God bless!
