We’re Here!

It’s definitely a different culture, from women and men seeming to associate only when married or buying things to the beautiful jewelry for less than a dollar.

A few things have initially caught my eye:

Their medians are made up of cows sun bathing in the road. Their food is very tasty. The women are unbelievably beautiful and kind. Washed clothes are impossible to dry during monsoon weather. Everything is colorful. We consider ourselves lucky when we find toilets with toilet paper (so yes, we bring our own; we will keep some things from our own culture :)), sometimes I need to close me eyes when we are on a bus since the stress that’s caused by me thinking we’re going to hit either a person or dog in our 5 minute ride doesn’t help anything, and the amazing Chai Latte that’s given out freely at many places here! These are just some initial eye catchers.

One things that I have learned:

Have no expectations while traveling. We thought we would be staying over night in a hostile for one night then on a train to Goa we’d go. We ended up staying in Bangalore at a hostel for 2 nights, then at a YWAM base for a night before we took an overnight bus to Goa. We are now in Goa at a friend’s house and today we are moving to a different house closer to the ministry we will hopefully start within a few days!

We are meeting so many amazing people that we’ll be working with and God’s showing us some great things already. I’m already getting the sense that these next few months will go by faster than we’d ever imagined!
