After many, many hours in the Atlanta and Dubai airport and then an 8 hr bus ride from Hyderabad, we finally made it to the coastal region of Andhra Pradesh!
The Lord’s favor was definitely on the 19 of us women traveling. Travel was long, but it went so smoothly.
God has just been blowing us away with His favor and provision. The house that we are staying in is super legit. It has running water, several beds and even air conditioning in some of the rooms! After expecting to tent for a while this is quite the upgrade.
We start our first day of ministry tomorrow. The girls are really pumped. Our first assignments for the next two weeks will help meet some basic needs that the children’s home just doesn’t have the man-power to do in a short amount of time.
One team will be helping to fill out paperwork that will assist the children here in getting adopted, and the other team will be helping to make sure that all the children have 3 nice outfits to wear. Of course there are more details involved, but those are the basics. Hopefully on Sunday when the participants are able to get Internet they will be posting some more in-depth updates for all of you. 🙂
From a leaders’ perspective:
I have just been blown away by these young women.
Their faith is strong. Their hearts are pure. Out of their lips come encouragement and grace and truth. Complaining is practically absent. Their passion is contagious.
Tonight we worshiped on our open roof. We looked out over the city. Their hearts are broken. They are hungry for more.
They’ve had a taste of the goodness of the Lord. They’re heard the Spirit’s whispering that there is yet still more to be discovered.
So here they are.
Across the ocean but so close to the Father’s heart.
