Words of Life from the Voice of Truth

  Darkness:
At some point or another we all enter into a place of uncertainty, a place we
take no one with us but ourselves.
A place where we shut out the whole world and begin to doubt.

             Imagine
someone forcing you to live in this place.  A place where no one has hope or faith, and is always
uncertain of tomorrow.  The last
few days of ministry have felt like this to me.  Not because I feel like I am being forced to live in a
hopeless, faithless, and uncertain place, but because I feel like without faith
and a hope, there is no certainty.

      Each
resident of the leper community has family somewhere.  Each resident with their own story, each with their own God,
and each with their uncertain fate.
After the infection of leprosy becomes visible to others, they are
forced to live in designated areas.
They are not allowed to get a job to support themselves, and they are
forced to beg for food.  Their
family leaves them in fear that they, too, will become infected.

             Faithless
hope has trapped the families that live in the slums into a place that is
unforgiving, and a place full of witchcraft.  It is here in the slums that the forgotten people of India
live.

      It
was here in the slums that words of life from the voice of truth touched my
heart.  It was here with the forgotten
people of India where the Lord confirmed in me that India is where He is
calling me to serve His Kingdom.
