In an attempt to entertain ourselves during a full day of
sermons and speakers spoken in a language that sounds like gibberish to me, a
few of us girls started to play ‘would you rather’ and we came to choosing
between becoming blind or deaf. It was a difficult decision and it took a lot
of internal debate. A couple days later and I’m still thinking about which one I
would pick.
This morning I woke up to the sound of birds, and life beginning
just outside the window. Then someone put on music and we got ready for the day
worshiping through the songs. Then during church service we sang songs for the
kids. Even now sitting in a café writing this blog men are playing pool and to dissolve
a debate they’re yelling and making noise.
All this to say, I’m thinking it may be easier to get around
in everyday life if I could see but I don’t think I could get on without the
ability to hear. The birds didn’t just wake me up this morning the awoke
something in my soul. And our worship songs in the morning remind me of the
beauty and love that God has for us.
Even though I’ve only been in India for less than two weeks
God is starting to show me how to truly hear him. He’s given me a hunger for
him and to hear him that’s hard to describe. Each person I’ve met here hase
taught me something and have been a message from the most high.
It’s my prayer that everyone can have an experience like
this. That everyone can experience God and truly seek after Him with all they
have.
