Darkness

As I walk the streets of Bangalore I start to notice the one thing you cant find in the pictures on the internet, or in the books at the library. That one thing just happens to be how broken and dark this country really is. Ok, so that is two things.  As my team starts a wonderful game on day one of a scavenger hunt, I get real excited about being thrown into the culture and trying to figure our way around. Each group of two received 500 rupees which in American money that is 10 dollars. So we have this money and a list of things we need to get and about an hour to find as...

Heart wreckage

“But who can endure the day of his coming? Who can stand when he appears? For he will be like a refiner’s fire or a launderer’s soap.”- Malachi 3:2   The Lord is truly a refiner’s fire. 16 girls came to Georgia not knowing what the Lord was going to do, nervous about the unpredictability of going to India. We were thrown off a cliff when our first night we were told that we would be venturing out into Atlanta to evangilize to the homeless. Or should I say…I was thrown off. From that moment on, basically we had no chance. The Lord had his mark on...

It is done

It is done.  I realize these are strange words to summarize the beginning of my experience, but that is the phrase that I keep hearing.  I came to Atlanta carrying more than a giant suitcase, backpack, and a sleeping bag- I was also carrying a myriad of personal issues.  The thing about burdens is that after a while you don’t even realize you’re carrying them.  Regardless, the Lord has used the past few days to remove some of the burdens I’ve been carrying for years.  For example, on the first night we were instructed to go out on the streets and...

Setting India on Fire!

Hey everyone!  So, the day is finally here! We are leaving for the airport this afternoon, and then it is off to India! Training camp was such a great experience, and our team really started to become a family. These past four days we did team building activities, tons of AMAZING worship, and had sessions on preparing for our trip. This week also helped our team realize our goals for the women we will be working with in India. We are ready to set India on fire! Our hopes are that these women would know that God is their warrior and that they are his beloved. We are so ready to start...

Out of the Box God!!

wow! today is the day that i have been waiting for, for months!! i didn’t realize how much God was going to move just at training camp.. we have done so much in these past 4 days that i NEVER expected! i wish i could write and share all of it.. Community with a group of believers is something that i have not really been involved in. I has been incredibly challenging for me to set aside my pride, not worry about what anyone thinks and just be vulnerable and open up. It is so exciting to be surrounded by these 15 other girls and our 2 leaders and even though we have only known each...
