When you step out of America and into the third world, things that were once easy become a bit more…challenging. Finding toilet paper becomes an ordeal when the country you’re in doesn’t use it, clean drinking water has to be brought in, and internet is scarce.
Our team headed out on Saturday, our “day off” from ministry, to get online to connect with friends and family. We got onto the computers and about 15 minutes later the power went off, a storm rolled in, and we took shelter until it passed and we could walk the 45 minutes home.
Know that this Saturday we will be trying again, and we’ll go in the morning so that if it doesn’t work out, we can try again in the afternoon!
All of the team is doing well here. We spend our days tutoring the boys, playing with them, worshipping with them, playing “throw throw” (Indian dodge ball), and just living life with them. It’s been a great first week.
Thank you for your continued prayers and your patience with communication. Everyone is looking forward to connecting with their loved ones on Saturday!!
