Coming on the trip I really didn’t have any expectations for training camp, mostly because I just wanted to get to India. Now I realize how essential it is to be here before we go out into the world and on the field. Being here I have learned so much more than I ever expected to! We’ve learned about the culture we will be in from people who have been there. We have talked about things keeping us from God and barriers that may be in our way. We have learned how to be a team that glorifies God in all that they do. And we have learned how to listen to God’s voice. For me, it’s just been nice to spend some quality time in the presence of God, listening to Him, talking to Him and leaning on Him.
I have been asking God to overflow me with His love so that it might flow over to these broken people in a way that is not tarnished by my worldliness, but is still raw and perfect. I’ve also had a song running through my head…It is by Josh Garrels and is called ‘Pilot Me’. The songs says, ‘I will arise and follow you over, Savior please, Pilot me.’ That has been my biggest prayer throughout this whole process. That God might completely pilot my soul, my heart, and my actions to bring His love and goodness to India. I am a mere human and if I try to intercede on my own accord that would be pretty bad, so I’m leaning on God to work through me.
It has been so amazing seeing all of these men and women here putting thier life on pause to go out into the world and share the love of Christ. I know that my team is so excited and ready to travel over to India tomorrow and officially begin this amazing journey! It is so surreal that this time has already come, but I’m ready for it to start! Please pray for safety for all of the teams as they are traveling and that we might be a light in a world of complete darkness. Here we go!
