It Silently Thrives

Oh, India. This is such a unique and special culture. The smells here are bittersweet and seep into anything exposed to it for more than 24 hours. The colors are inescapable – they’re splashed across anything and everything and are such a refreshment to eyes longing for something familiar. The traffic is out of control. Peace and War

Wow, this first week has been amazing. When I was preparing for the trip I really expected to experience at least a little bit of a culture shock, but that has not been the case at all. When it’s no longer about you

Oh India, you land of beauty, horrors, love, and hate. The air is so rich here, sometimes good and sometimes not. There’s so many colors, bright and vibrate colors! Yes, you are beautiful…And also sad. The first thing you see in India when you are landing in Mumbai are big, crowed, dirty cities…and slums. Soo many slums. The ground is painted blue with their tarps. And you know that in each there’s someone living in there. Goa, who has it’s share in poverty, is blessed with a beautiful beach and lush green grass. But with just as much joy in the simple things...

Safe in India!

We just spoke with the team leaders and they’ve all arrived safely in India. They have arrived at their ministry site and will be settling in these next few days and getting some orientation from their host. Expect to see some blogs rolling out in the next few days as they find internet. Thanks for all the prayers for this team!  – The Passport field support team
