God’s Beautiful Provision

Coming into Training Camp, I had only “met” my teammates through biographies on the team blog and checking them out on Facebook. Through that, I was really excited about meeting each girl, learning about them, and working alongside of them for the glory of God’s Kingdom this summer in India. However, as I was flying to Training Camp, I got super nervous. The typical questions of humanity raced through my mind: Will they like me? Will we get along? Will I click with them? Will we be unified? On top of all of those emotional questions, I had one big question: Will they let...

Adopt a Team

We have teams in on Saturday for training camp and all of them launch out of the United States to their prospective country on Wednesday, January 19th. Over the next four months young adults will travel to five different countries to bring Kingdom and we are so excited to see what happens during the four and a half months they are out on the field. At Real Life, we are asking participants to try to blog every week. This can be about the difficulty of living on the field, community, ministry, the adventure, or anything related to their time on the field. Granted, internet time can be hard...

For you are my Beloved

I wish that I could explain in more than just words how beautiful she is. I wish that I could scream to her just how much she is loved. She is worthy, she is WORTH it. That all her troubles, all of her hardships, all of the issues and problems that never seem to go away are only shaping her to who she is meant to be, and that her life has VALUE.I wish that I could tell her that even though her dad abandoned her, and her mom died, that she is worthy of a family, of a people, that love her. I pray that she knows just how wide, how deep and how GOOD His love really is. That she can pray all...

Family. Pray. Love.

So today as we unpacked from Mumbai and discussed how we planned to fill the remaining 17 days it hit…   There are only 17 days left.  The past few months have gonna by in the blink of an eye, from the day i walked into the airport not knowing how i felt about these people who I was sure would judge everything about me, but knowing I just wanted to travel. To not wanting to close my eyes at night because it meant yet another day with these 5 amazing girls had slipped through my fingers.  We have become closer than I had ever imaged was possible.  Each one...

Discipline in the temples

Something I have always struggled with is being disciplined; whether or not that meant in school, with my relationship with God, or anything else. I get distracted easily and other things become more important. I admire people that are extremely disciplined in everything they do and I have been striving for that recently. Last week we rented a car, drove a little ways and then hopped on a boat and went into the town of Old Goa. Our mission was simply this: to pray. We visited a few (gorgeous!) temples and did what we call prayer walks. Just walking and having a conversation with God and...

Mumbai

On October 31st, my team plus a couple other friends hopped on a train to Mumbai. Our instructions were to ditch the US politeness and get on the train even before other people are done getting off, because the train stops for a good minute then on its way it goes, and we can’t miss it. I instantly put my game face on, ready to check any Indians standing in my way… We got there, and it was less stressful than what I thought it would be. The view during the train ride was absolutely beautiful. The first day we got there we got to check out a red light district. The next day...
