At 6:00AM on Saturday I was awoken to begin our wonderful adventure to the water park. As we waited outside of the gates by our house to get picked up I began to feel a little bit nervous- I was finally going to meet my little Andrew! (you can find him on the SCH site) Andrew was one of the kids who’s paper work I had done to help in getting him adopted. While doing his paper work he had instantly gotten ahold of my heart, for what reason or how this happened I couldn’t tell you, but throughout the rest of the days I kept thinking about this precious little boy. My thoughts constantly went to thinking about how much I wanted to meet and love on him. Maybe it was a little creepy, but hey, that’s alright.
I think God really used this love to help show me more of His love for each and everyone of us. There are so many people who God has yet to meet and He’s constantly yearning for them to get to know Him and how much He longs for us all to realize how much He loves each and every one of us. Through this love that the Lord has placed on my heart for sweet little Andrew I have become to further understand His great and limitless love. God is so good.
Now, back to the water park. Only a few girls from my team decided to go on this adventure and I think we were all a bit curious about what would actually be going on. The ride there was about crazy- but we made it! When we arrived at the park I was pretty shocked to say the least. This place was clean+, it was well done. It was the Disney World water park of India. I was really excited, and so were the kids. I was so happy to be able to be apart of this experience, many of these children haven’t ever been to a water park and especially one this nice. And I finally met Andrew. It was a wonderful start to the day
There was an amusement part attached to the water park which was a ton of fun. The kids and even the aides were all full of smiles. After a few rides we headed to the water park, picked up our wonderful rented bathing suits (pictures of these should be posted on facebook soon) and headed to some slides! At the bottom of the slides was a big pool that all the kids began piling into, it was so crazy and so much fun. Kids were on our backs, others were jumping, water was being splashed. And of course I was with Andrew playing and splashing. My favorite part of this pool was watching him standing in the water, not doing anything but stand there- laughing his head off. He was having so much fun just standing in the water, it was one of the most beautiful moments I’ve ever been apart of. Then we headed to the wave pool.
I had thought that the pool we had been at was fun, but the wave pool was even better. I had taken Andrew into my arms and we headed into the deep waters, dipping and splashing! Once the actual waves began Andrew became a bit scared pointing quickly to the stairs on the side, so I brought him over and we played with the splashes coming up, laughing and yelling with joy. After a little while a few other boys from our group came up grabbing my hands to go in the water so I grabbed one of them up, placed him on my back (made sure someone was watching Andrew) and headed deep into the waves. It was so much fun jumping up and down in the waves with this sweet little adventurous boy. I was having so much fun I had completely forgotten that I was one of the only white (1 out of 7) people at this park, until one Indian girl swam up to me placing her arm next to mine laughing and asking “can I touch!?” That was odd, but I just kept on swimming and laughing with a sweet little boy on my back, reflecting on how amazing this experience was and how grateful I was to be apart of it.
