Beautiful Worship

If you feel like you're a bad musicaian/singer than this is a blog for you! It says in Psalms to "make a joyful noise". What it doesn't say is that that joyful does not mean good quality.Being a musician is one of the most difficult lessons I have been learning for the past 6 years of my life.

Last Sunday a group of us went to church. What I was imagining was rows of chairs, an altar and a worship band of some type. What I got was a whole bunch of entergetic kids, exhausted ladies, a few instruments, and everyone in a  circle. To me this seemed like chaos. After being given a mini tour by one of the kids I was pushed into the center of it all.

Sitting in worship and trying to focus my mind God decided to focus my attention elsewhere. As I was looking around the room, a worshipper singing in a different language which i did not understand whatsoever- I looked across the room and saw a girl clapping off tempo and singing the key which I don't even know what it was.

My normal reaction was that this would be terrible. My reaction through God's eyes– it was beautiful! It was beautiful because she was beautiful and created in HIS image. It was beautiful because she was worshipping the King. So make a joyful noise? I don't care what key. I don't care how bad. I just care that it's done in the right heart. And that is beautiful to me =)

Big shout out to Sarah Moody for writing this blog while my henna, which some of the younger Indian girls did, is drying (so I couldn'r type haha). (YES- be jealous!) :p
