Chariots of Fire

God has really been teaching me about faith this week, trusting in Him and knowing that He’ll lead me. Two passages in the Bible that have really touched me were 2 Kings 6:8-23, and Daniel 3:19-30. To have faith like Elisha! When you see with your human eyes a whole army of the enemy surrounding you, but more than that, seeing with your spiritual eyes the chariots of fire protecting YOU. And we serve the same God as Elisha did, and God loves us just as much. How awesome. You really need to have that faith too, to know and believe that the people here will come to know the One True God, even when you see them worshiping their little elephant god, genesh, on the beach before they release him into the sea…and what he’s going to do in the sea besides adding to the litter is really quite beyond me but that’s what happened. Also on house visits this week in one of the slums, there’s this cow that goes in and out of any house it wants because the people think it’s a god and they feed it, and count it a blessing if it poops in the house…It was really funny though we were just sitting in there and all od the suddon in pops this cow head with these big horns! We were all laughing, so random. They didn’t let it come in since we were there. Also, right outside of that house, is like this little monkey god shrine or something where they have human like burials for any dead monkey they find in the jungle, becaue apparently monkeys are gods too. Also that a god lives in a cows stomach( and my question of course would be which of the cow’s four stomachs) But yeah, it really is sad that these people, created in the image of GOD are worshiping the same animal that we eat with steak sauce back in the states. So depressing. I pray every day that they come to see the light of Christ! They really are wonderful people. God bless you all! Love, Meghan
