I can make my Body to praise the Lord

India is hot. Actually, hot does not even begin to describe the heat here. I sweat all day everyday. I wake up sweaty and sticky; I go to bed sweaty and sticky. When I get out of the shower and towel off I sweat. It is ridiculous and it makes me laugh. Being in India has shown me how to appreciate the little things. Here is a top ten:

1. Cold Water — every drink here is hot

2. Gatorade — because it is something different than water

3. Air conditioning (which we only enjoy on Saturdays, our days off)

4. Fruit — a rare but much enjoyed treat

5. Oatmeal — so delicious

6. Rain — because it cools off the hot temperatures

7. Laughter — it gets you through the rough times

8. Internet – to communicate with family and friends

9. Fans — to move the hot air around enough to bring a little relief from the heat

10. God

Number 10 is the most important. God is always with us, always protecting us. We take for granted so much when we have privilege, even God. Everything else on the list is provided only by Him. He is so big, so good, and so real. He deserves much more attention and praise than we give Him.

The ministry we work with is amazing. The boys have such a strong faith in the Lord. They are teaching me so much. They love to be loved and it reminds me of how much we all need to be loved. Sometimes we are too prideful to accept this. We think we can have it all together on our own. But we can’t. We need love. We need a Savior. The Lord wants to wrap His arms around us and watch us giggle just as I and the team wants to hold these boys and tickle them until the scream with laughter. I am learning a lot about how the Lord loves me and how to love myself.

My challenge to you: Get somewhere quiet and simply talk to God. Ask Him to tell you how much He loves you. He is faithful! 🙂
