“You turned my wailing
into dancing; you removed my sackcloth and clothed me with joy, that my heart
may sing to you and not be silent. O Lord my God, I will give thanks to you
forever.”
Psalm 30:11-12
I love this verse. He could
have left us in our sackcloths and leave us wailing, but instead he gave us a
reason for dancing and singing; he has given us joy. Not just joy when life is
going great, but joy through ANY circumstance. Whether the devil is shoving
lies into our mind or through physical struggles, or with the emotional pain of
losing a friend or family member. There is always something that we can thank
God for, and he is always worthy of our praise.
That is definitely something
that I have learned by being here in Kolkata, India. The devil has been
attacking us in every area, and is continuing to do so, and we really could use
more prayer for strength against all the attacks. But not only that, we also
need prayer that we will keep fighting even if we are not being attacked. The
prayer that we have been praying over each other is that we will be so in tune
with the Spirit that we will know exactly what to pray for over a certain
person or exactly what to say to someone, without a doubt in our minds.
Everyday I am falling more
and more in love with India, even though everyday I think I might die because
of the heat (it’s been above 40’C here for the past week or so). When we are
not doing anything we all have sweat dripping down our faces, but I guess
that’s all a part of the experience.
I want to thank everyone who
has been praying for me, but I ask that you will not stop, as it is not getting
any easier as we are winding down to the last month. Please continue to keep me
and my team in your prayers.
May the grace of the Lord
Jesus Christ be with you all.
