Light in a Dark Place Called India

I absolutely love waking up
every morning and realizing that I am in India. Even though this is such a dark
place filled with so much pain and suffering, there is some light shining
through the cracks.

I had this vision the other
day, after we went prayer walking trough some poorer parts of Kolkata, of this
dark room. And all of a sudden there was a light bulb in the room shining super
bright; the darkness disappeared because the light was so bright. Then I got a
vision of a room with a couple light bulbs in it, then some darkness tried to
enter the light room and make it become dark. But the lights stayed on because
they were connected to a higher power and darkness could not turn off the
light. This was really encouraging because Pastor Sam and his sweet wife; Bayola,
August, and Pabi are the lights in this dark place called India; and now we are
too.

This place is so beautiful
because of those people. A couple days ago we went to a valentine’s day
fellowship with some college aged students, and it was absolutely amazing to
see so many people so on fire for the Lord, praising Him with all that’s in
them. I was thinking that there would be maybe 5-10 people but there must have
been 35 people at least. It is so encouraging to see teens standing up and
being daringly different in this dark place.

You are the light of the
world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and
put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to
everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before men, that
they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.

-Matthew 5:14-16

God is at work in this place.
He wants to see ALL His children saved and come back home. He wants to say “Let’s
have a feast and celebrate. For this son of mine was dead and is alive again;
he was lost and is found”. And I am so glad that God is using me in India.
