You know, for as long as I can remember I’ve loved a good cup of coffee in an air conditioned building with Bible in hand. What sweet times with Jesus those always are. Now as I’m sure most of you know, Starbucks and AC don’t aren’t a readily available commodity over here in India. I think the Lord has taught me something huge in this. He’s teaching me that worshiping in the sweltering heat can be even MORE sweet than in an air conditioned building.
I’ve always thought that I knew this. I’ve always thought, “Well hey, I lived overseas for more than half my life I know what it means to worship God with no comforts.” I suppose you could say I’ve always had the head knowledge but never the heart knowledge when it comes to spending time and worshiping Jesus in this different way. It’s always great when you think you have a grasp on something and then God teaches it to you again…and again…and again. I pray that living in India and experiencing God here for these next six weeks will even more spur me on to live a life of frugality in the name of JESUS.
