Watch Me Move the Mountains

Last week I got the awesome opportunity to go and spend a few days at a remote country-like area outside of the city. We took a flat, a bus and some trains to get there and after a long and fun-filled day we arrived.  There is absolutely nothing like seeing miles and miles of rice farms, lined with straw huts, palm trees, naked babies and smiling brown faces. We unpacked, put up our mosquito nets and ventured out around our area. Some kids invited us to their house for some tea and we noticed the many, many idols and realized their hold is a lot stronger here than where we live. You...

A Biblical Time Machine

It blows my mind how we are approaching the mid-point in our trip, but when I look at what God has done for the people here, my team, and me it makes me realize how much has gone down. My life before this trip is pretty spiritually stale. My most spiritual moments were me sticking my hands up in the air during worship. When I compare that to where I am now, I am in a completely different mindset. God has showered His grace and love on me and showed me wisdom beyond my wildest dreams. I still have a long ways to go (don’t we all?) but it feels so amazing to be syncing up with my...

Paving the Way for THE WAY!

What a week! We were informed on Monday that the team was going to a prayer meeting to a village that doesn’t know the gospel. A pastor has been recently planted there, who is a local Bengali. Our team prayed and asked God who to go, who to stay and seven out of ten of us hopped in the van with Pastor Sam and Pabithro. After forty minutes and thirty kilometers away we arrived. Village life in India is far different than what I’m used to. The houses were made out of smoothed mud and bamboo surrounded by miles and miles of rice farms. I’m getting used to never really knowing what’s...

Resting In the Lord

I see the boys doing things to make us proud all the time. They are little things, like putting our tea cups up when we’re done drinking or making us fancy cards, but all the same they seek our approval and love. It got me thinking about how the Lord feels about all of his children when they seek out opportunities to make Him proud. I adore these kids with everything inside of me and it breaks me just thinking about leaving them after seeing them come so far, but I will never love like God can. I can’t, it’s impossible and it makes me more in awe of Him than ever. I pray that I would...

A Demonic Playground

In the months leading up to this trip, I noticed the Lord preparing me mentally and spiritually for some intense spiritual warfare. Now that we are here, I can see why. It is so dark and heavy here. There is no veil hiding the spiritual here like there is in America. The enemy is out in the open. People are worshiping non-existent gods in shrines everywhere you look, and when a lost soul is worshiping something that isn’t there, guess what takes its place. As we were walking through the city, we passed a very large temple with a big black idol. It was holding severed heads in one...
