More Tears of Joy and Loving Drool

Let me start by praising God because He is so cool and altogether wonderful. I'm still in India, it's still hot, ankles are still scandalous, and I still love it. This is without a doubt one of the sweetest times I've ever spent with God, one of the favorite times in my life. Thank You, Jesus, for Your overwhelming company and smile. Over the past two weeks, our team has finished the adoption application papers for all of the children here! How Kingdom come is that? A couple of children already have some families looking at them, which brings my heart to smile and sing. He is a...

Not Enough

This week my heart has been completely and totally destroyed for the kingdom, and probably had one of the hardest days of my entire life.  The beginning of the week we finished our sewing project, thank goodness. I was so ready to get out of the house, and love on some kids. We got out assignment for Wednesday through Saturday, to get paired with a child and just love on them as well as help him or her with their physical therapy if it is needed.  We get to Victory House and as usual the kids swarmed us. Jillian, the physical therapist, walked us through the rooms to pair us up...

Beautiful Worship

If you feel like you're a bad musicaian/singer than this is a blog for you! It says in Psalms to "make a joyful noise". What it doesn't say is that that joyful does not mean good quality.Being a musician is one of the most difficult lessons I have been learning for the past 6 years of my life.    Last Sunday a group of us went to church. What I was imagining was rows of chairs, an altar and a worship band of some type. What I got was a whole bunch of entergetic kids, exhausted ladies, a few instruments, and everyone in a  circle. To me this seemed like...

Under

Yesterday evening (Wednesday evening), my body decided to reject all food and liquid I tried to put inside it. I didn’t sleep well at all as my stomach writhed in pain continually throughout the night. I woke up this morning without the nausea but with a headache and fever. No spending time with orphans today. I’m not the only one feeling attacked. My entire team is sensing the spiritual warfare in some way or another. And this is no surprise, as yesterday we began one-on-one ministry with the children at the orphanage – physical therapy and other forms of helping and...

Comfortable

First off, general announcement – when we post blogs from iPads and iPhones, all of the paragraphs go away. So please know that we do know how to write, but formatting just gets silly on here sometimes! Thanks for bearing with us 🙂 Anyway, on to my blog… This was actually written last Sunday, June 16. The Sabbath is so good. How joyous it is that God invented a day of rest and commanded us to have one every single week! One whole day where I get to do nothing except enjoy You and the beautiful life You give? Okay, Jesus, I suppose I could take you up on that offer. So on...

A Little Taste of India

Greetings from India! This is our 11th day in India, but I feel like I’ve been here longer. By now we know how to get an auto ride almost anywhere we really want to go. We know key phrases, good places to eat, where the market is and have just gotten a good feel of the city and how to get around. I feel scandalous if the wind blows my skirt and exposes my ankles. Modesty here is pretty much the reverse from back home. You can show your mid-drift, but you better keep your shoulders and knees and ankles covered. I know who I can buy the cheapest coconuts from...
