A little bit of lately…

I’ve officially been in India for over a week! My time here has already been such a crazy experience. The Lord is already teaching me so much about myself and how to truly love others. So here’s a little insight to what we’ve been doing! My team spent all last week working in the ICM office working on adoption paperwork. Each child has a binder full of their medical history, previous institutions, and any other information on how they got to SCH. Many of the papers were a sloppy mix of English and Telugu, which was pretty hard to decode. While I was struggling with the...

What God Has Shown Me Through a Skirt

That may seem like a strange title, but this is a strange post, so it works!  It is the story of one of my skirts  ðŸ™‚ Just one short week ago, it was a normal, clean skirt.  Now it smells and is covered with all sorts of fun stuff from my week. And, because I’m me, I’m going to include a picture so you can get the full experience 🙂 It may not look like much, but that skirt is covered in memories. That biggest mark you see came from a day with the kids – I’m still not quite sure what it is… There is chai all over – and by that I...

Indian Reasons to Smile

This past week in India has been great. Honestly, there wasn’t a super profound Jesus experience that rocked my world and changed my life forever. But my heart is SO full. Joy and peace abound in my soul in such a unique way when I am in this country. I love it. So rather than giving you thoughts or stories from the past several days, I want to let you in on a few of the many little things that Jesus allows to repeatedly make my heart smile in this beautiful country. Cows on the streets Decorated cows on the streets Such vibrant clothing Electricity randomly going out multiple...

The Love of Jesus

I stand here on the roof looking out over the night of this city in India. There are twinkling lights off in the distance, a flat land filled with beautiful people who have yet to be told of their worth and power. Young men on motorcycles, buzzing past old men walking slowly and silently on the side of the road. Women in saris on the street, climbing into autos with their families. Hindu chants, square buildings with open windows, constant car horns. Temples of idolatry, a god for everything and all, falsehoods rampant in a place so desperately in need of the truth. God’s breeze...

A Quick Post for Wendy

I have to take a few moments to share my meeting with Wendy.  My team (Team 2) has been assigned a project to literally clothe the orphans.  We are going through all of the SCH locations and making sure every child has clothes that fit and are labeled as theirs.  This is something that needs to be done badly, but they do not have the man power to do it on their own – which is where we come in! 🙂 Yesterday we went to the first home – the largest – and started sizing each child.  There was also a ton of time to hang out with the kids and give them the...

10 Things I Have Learned in the First 10 Days

Unbelievably we have now reached the 10 day mark!  This has been by far the fullest 10 days I have ever experienced – physically, mentally, and spiritually. To start it all off, we had 4 days of training in Georgia which was full of learning, growing closer to each other and the Lord, and Signs!   It was then time to head to India!  We had a long bus ride, followed by a long wait in the Atlanta airport, followed by a long flight, followed by more waiting – this time in the Dubai airport, followed by more flying…  Then, we finally arrived in...
