Cutting my Heart in Calcutta

Dear all of my family and closest friends,  So picture this:  I am in a country where A) they don’t believe in trash cans and their motto is “find a lake, throw it in” but really what they mean is drop the trash wherever you are when you are done with it. B) It literally smells like poop and trash and exhaust everywhere. C) there are cats and dogs everywhere… stray cats and dogs. D) There are no traffic laws so there are thousands of cars going in thousands of different directions and honking from the time you wake up until the time you go to...

Embarking on Gods mission.

Here I’am in a place I once never thought or wanted to be in… How wrong was I to believe that this place was not for me. I’am sharing this experience of being in Calcutta with people I met a week ago and learning to live together as family. This place previously was real to me through TV or documentries, and having the privilege to be here and minister to the orphans here in Calcutta is a joy beyond life itself.   I’am completely out of my element, and so far I find this to be so cleansing, unreal and incredible..I feel blessed to say the least. Hardcore. People stop and take pictures. ·         You miss Wilmington traffic. ·         It’s rush hour...

Im alive!

I love everything about this place.  I love the twenty four children that we get to love. I love the ten girls I get to live with and learn from. I love Pastor Sam and his sweet wife Bayulla and their amazing example of commitment to our Heavenly Father. I love our AMAZING God! So much has happened I don’t even know where to start. There are 16 boys from ages 7-11, and 8 girls ages 5-10. The girls don’t speak English, but are catching on.  Please keep these precious girls in your prayers. We are continually in prayer that they would be accepted into school. As of now...

Safe in India

I just spoke with the team leaders and the team has arrived safely in Mumbai, India.  They were delayed in Belgium making them miss their onward flight to Calcutta.  But not to worry, they’ve already got rescheduled for a flight out of Mumbai in about 3 hours.  They are due to arrive in Calcutta at approximately 3:30pm local time where they will be picked up by their host.  They will be settling in these next few days and getting some orientation from their host.  Expect to see some blogs rolling out in the next few days as they find internet. Thanks...
