The Power of Love

First off, my apologies for the lack of communication via blog these past few weeks. It’s hard to believe in one week we’ll be landing on American soil. And on July 30th I’ll finish debrief-the same date I finished the World Race one year earlier. It’s been an incredible two months here. I didn’t know I could enjoy leading a team so much. I didn’t know I could enjoy ministry so much. I didn’t know I could love so much.  Meet Chamar (name changed for privacy purposes).                (me and...

Lessons

God is awesome for many reasons. I love how he teaches me things and brings me through seasons where he allows me to be his student. The following paragraphs address a few of the lessons I feel like the Lord has been teaching me throughout my time in India. Enjoy! 1. Expectations                 When embarking on this two month journey, I would have denied the fact that I had expectations for what our time in India would look like. I would have told you that whatever happened was cool with me. I may have used...

Reliant

Time has a way of deceiving us. It is so easily wasted, so quickly wished away, and so rarely treasured. Before leaving for India, I thought 2 months abroad would be a breeze, after all, I didn’t go home at all my first semester of college. And then I met India. Now we can look back on this and laugh, but this is only because of God’s faithfulness to our team!        In an earlier blog entitled Waking...

Answered Prayers

I just want to take some time to reflect and let all of you know how the Lord has answered our prayers! 1.  The second week we were here, Raelyn, Heidi, and I went on a prayer walk around our neighborhood. We passed many Hindu temples in peoples homes and received many many stares from the locals. We started praying that someone would see us walking around would invite us in. Minutes later we had an interaction with a sweet lady named Lupa. We communicated with her as best we could and found out she was a Hindu pastor. She asked if we were Christians and we said yes. We thought she...

Footprints

Footsteps   The spark was lit when the immature 11 year old when on her first missions trip to Serbia. She thought it was going to be full of fun and games. Not quite. But the spark grew as she traveled to Nigeria twice, then to France, then to Nigeria again, then India for the first time and the next year India AGAIN!   People have asked me how I got my passion for missions, why I have a passion for missions, why India, and how did India come to mind. This blog is to answer some of those questions.   ‘How did I get a passion for missions.’ My testimony has a...

My Crazy Boy

Each morning we take time to do something together as a team before the boys get home from school around lunchtime. Today we wrote letters to the boys. The first letter I wrote was to a special boy who’s made quite the imprint on my heart.             To give you an idea of my connection with this specific boy, here is a note from my team leader Heidi that she wrote to encourage me in this relationship. “Do for one what you wish you could do for a thousand.â€...
