As we reach the halfway point of the trip, it seems appropriate to introduce you to the team. Hopefully putting some names to faces will help all you friends and family when we come home and share stories about one another! One month down in Calcutta. It is crazy to think we have 26 days before we will leave this place that has become such a part of my daily life. At this point I can not imagine what it will be like to not be on the noisy, crazy crowded, dangerous Calcutta streets. So, for this blog post, I will be recapping this month with the good, the bad, and the ugly. The Good: Every Wednesday night is our week-iversary. We spend time together doing fun silly things like playing BS with cards, having dance parties, or watching Tangled Picked up some new vocabulary words: sick, foul, and strugs Learned...

As I post this we are in our midpoint debrief, meaning that our time here is about halfway done. CRAZY! Since that is the case, I thought I’d highlight some notable parts of the trip so far 🙂     –  Relationships with the boys. Hearing their stories, comforting them when they miss their parents, don’t do well on a test, or are picked on.   –  Seeing the Mother Teresa house. Reading about her life and loving everything she said. She is one of the coolest spiritual role models.   –  Eating with our hands. It’s the norm here 🙂...

            Getting to know all of these boys has been quite rewarding. We have all been blessed to make several connections this past month.Thinking about home the other day i thought to myself, man im going to miss these boys. I will miss their night devotions and prayer, their childlike faith, their smiles, their silly games like throw-throw and stack-stack. I will miss tutoring them in school and teaching them English.
