Stopping Traffic for White People

Well we made it! I can hardly believe it! After 2 days of traveling we made it to Calcutta, India and have settled in to our busy little apartment.  Calcutta is a city like no other- it’s rich in color, but also in poverty and idol worship.  Half of my team went on a market/money exchange run yesterday and as we were coming back we walked past a Hindu temple. The god inside was massive, it had a sword in one hand and cut off heads in the other. It was also standing on top of another god. It was the god of destruction, an evil god and we saw people on the streets offering...

The Pre-Adventure

Today is the final day here at training camp! All in all it has been a great week I feel like if I was to come home right now I would be a different person. The Lord has been working on my heart and revealing himself to me in many ways. He has told me that I am a warrior, that he is proud of me for fighting for Him and that he loves me dearly- more than I will ever understand. I am so excited for tomorrow to head out FINALLY and serve the Lord in India. Here is my team’s canvas! h

Aslan Erupts

Training camp is some pretty interesting stuff. We go about and meet all this awesome people who we would think are crazy, except they’re exactly like us. We have been working on intimacy with God in worship and in prayer. which seems pretty obvious. like we’re praying or worshiping. it should be intimate. unfortunately sometimes things get in the way. we’re held back by some darkness, whether past, fear, pain, addictions, problems. the first step then is to break these bonds. the second is to jump into intimacy. so breaking the bonds of pain and pride was a big thing for...

Ready, Set, GLOW!

So here I am, one day away from take-off. Training camp has been a great “spiritual charge” for the trip. From the “culture simulation” to the “prophetic training”, there has been growth and success in my mind and my heart.      Meeting my team has gone so well I can only praise God at His providence and plan. We seem to have such an incredible, diverse, and effective team dynamic. I cannot wait to get out there on the field with them. I know God has crazy adventures in store for us and we are going to shake...

It’s Gonna Be Wild

Having served with AIM last summer to Goa, India, I already had an idea of what training camp would be like. I knew there would be lots of people in small spaces. I knew there would be intense speaking sessions. I knew there would be some crazy people who are on fire for God. What I didn’t know was that I would learn what I’m doing after India. Training camp is usually a place for new freedom and restoration that has never been found. But I have already found that. Yet, God still had something special for me. He always does. You see, I am at such a special place in my heart....
