Don’t Leave Me Hangin’

Can these weeks fly by any faster?… This week has been such an encouragement as we’ve seen prayer after prayer being answered. When God calls us to something – a project, a task, a ministry, a job – He’ll never leave us hanging. That wouldn’t make any sense, would it? Earlier this week the ministry here had to move out of our building due to some conflicts. So we started praying. In the mean time we got a glimpse of just how much of an impact we’re making here. The women that we help everyday were so worried that it meant that they wouldn’t be...

Scene. The Rising.

Scene. Dark homes. Adversity within. Dissension and discord interlaced. Hidden cries for help masked behind smiling faces. Overwhelmed with disorder. Discouraged by the system. Tears held back as we hold their hands. Empty words that are not heard. Our senses not able to be blinded by the darkness. Yellings and beatings behind closed doors. Hope offered but lost. Strange Love

I feel that this week the Lord has been giving me a strange love for the children, culture and people of India like I never thought I would have.  As I look back on my first few weeks here, I tipped toed around garbage lying on the streets.  I plugged my nose to the interesting smells that filled the air.  I steered far away from the stray animals and their lovely trail of droppings they left behind.  At preschool I would distance myself from touching a child for the fear of getting their germs on me, sickness ect.  After using the...

Am I Making Sense?

This week was incredible. Yesterday was exactly one month that we’ve been in India. It’s finally starting to feel like this is where we live! Loving every second of being here and ministering to these awesome people. Being here raises a lot of questions. Questions that I’ve heard other people ask but never really felt they applied to me. Questions that I’m afraid to speak out loud because I almost feel like my faith should be stronger than that – like I shouldn’t be asking them. Questions that challenge my beliefs and strengthens them at the same time...
