As we reach the halfway point of the trip, it seems appropriate to introduce you to the team. Hopefully putting some names to faces will help all you friends and family when we come home and share stories about one another! Enjoy!
Meet Olivia
Olivia is a little fireball of spunk, laughter, and joy. She’s one of those women whose laughter is contagious and can get a whole room laughing.
Olivia has a true Mother’s heart for the boys, always checking to see how they are feeling, tending to scrapes or little injuries, and caring for them as the sweet children they are.
She’s a student at Samford University and will be beginning her Junior year.
Meet Raelyn
Raelyn is a force to be reckoned with both on and off the “Throw Throw” (a little like dodgeball) field. If she gets “out” I get myself out as quickly as possible to avoid her powerful arm sending the ball flying towards me.
Despite her fierce arm, Raelyn has a true spirit of gentleness and peace. She can instantly make anyone feel safe and calm, but she’s also a fierce woman of passion. The Lord has given her an awesome gift of seeing where people (or the team) are and where God wants them to be. Raelyn encourages and challenges as I believe Christ would and continually pushes herself and the team towards greatness.
Raelyn will graduate from the University of Missouri with her BSW in December.
Meet Hannah M.
Hannah M. is an absolute ball of JOY. Her childlike excitement over the color lime green, motorcycles, and ALL things India remind each of us on the team to tap into our own childlike spirits.
Hannah has a gift to find “the one” who is often overlooked. Whether it’s a cafeteria worker she befriends at training camp or the woman who prepares our meals, she wants EVERY person to be known and loved.
Hannah graduated from high school this past spring and plans to attend YWAM’s (Youth With A Mission) training for worship leading (did I mention this woman has the voice of an angel?).
Meet Hannah G.
Hannah G. (not to be confused with Hannah M.) is a woman on fire for the Lord. Hannah has a heart to do ministry and life Acts style. She prays, worships, speaks, and lives with a zealous passion for Christ. She has a heart for people to know the one true and living God.
Hannah spent the first 12 years of her life in Hong Kong (pretty awesome, right?). She has the amazing ability to tell hilarious stories and keep us laughing while also being able to ask great questions and go deep as well.
Hannah is entering her senior year at Letournea University in Texas and is majoring in Middle School Education.
Meet Taylor
Taylor is a woman who has devoted herself fully to Christ. She wants to (and is) squeezing everything she can out of this summer, personally, for the team, and for the ministry.
Taylor isn’t someone who just talks the talk, but walks the walk. She boldly listens to and follows the spirit moment to moment.
One of the most sincere, genuine, vulnerable, caring women you’ll ever meet, Taylor brings a raw sincerity to our team that is beautiful and so needed.
Taylor is entering her senior year at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She is studying to be a special education teacher and her giftings in this area are apparent every day of ministry with the boys.
Meet Alise
Our team’s southern belle! Alise has the incredible gift of relatability (is that even a word?). Whether it’s with the girls at her sorority, the boys at the children’s home, the Hindu pastor who lives down the road, or any and everyone we pass on the street (because Alise will practice her Hindi phrases with everyone she passes), Alise has the ability to make everyone feel value, cared for, and wanted.
I’ve met few people in my life with the positive attitude Alise embodies in any and all circumstances. She is constant and steady and reminds this team what joy and contentment in the Lord looks like.
Alise graduated from Ole Miss this past spring and will begin grad school for speech therapy there this fall.
I hope you enjoyed reading about the most amazing team ever!
