Seasons Change; This Story Remains. The End of One and a Beginning of Another

What happens when you serve? You are served. Think about it, when someone at a restaurant serves you and they do a good job, typically you serve them back by tipping them well. When someone buys your lunch, you typically thank them and buy lunch next time. That kind of serving is engrained into who we are. His steps are our steps now, and He was ALL about serving. When Jesus died on the cross for us, He was serving us. He made Himself a humble human and took on all of our sins. That wasn’t a little feat. Think of all the sins you have committed in your life, then triple that for all...

Beautiful goodbye

How do you sum up experiences in a way that connects to others as if they took the journey with you? How do you tell them about the love you felt or the days you felt at complete peace or the moments that will always stay in your mind and heart for the remainder of your life…How can I express my emotions, feelings and life lived in India for four months, where do I began and where do I end.. I guess what I am saying is that what I have seen and experienced can truly only be a gift that has been given to me, I will try to share it with others but it does not hold the same value, and...

It is well with my soul.

When peace like a river attends my way.  When sorrows like sea billows roll.  Whatever my lot, you have taught me to say, it is well, it is well with my soul.  You have taught me to say it is well with my soul, whatever my lot!  We trust so much in things of this world, and lean on them for love, security, hope, and happiness. But all these things can be taken away in an instant. We ourselves are only a breath, a passing shadow.  “You do not know what tomorrow will bring. What is your life?  For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then...

Coming to a Close

Well here it is; the last blog of my trip. I can’t believe that a week from now I will be flying home. It’s hard to process. I feel like just yesterday it was January 15th and I was flying to Georgia to meet my team for the first time. But here it is, April 28th, and we have just completed our last 3 hour church service here in Barasat. I’m not a fan of “lasts”. Even before this trip I wasn’t a fan of lasts. The last day in America was tough. I was excited to leave but I was incredibly nervous at the same time. I’d never been away from my family...

Torn Between The Two.

So, we have now officially come down to the last week with these kids and people here in India. I cannot believe that in exactly 1 week I will be stepping on a plane to go back home.   This week is going to be filled with tears, trials and tiredness. We have a busy week planned and prayer for focus and for the Lord to sustain us is definitely appreciated and necessary. In the last couple weeks I have gotten so close to the kids, and I cannot imagine leaving these kids and going back to my life back home.  These children are so precious and every time I think about leaving I...

A Story That Never Fades

My eyes are on the infinite grace of Jesus Christ. With my past behind me, and this world before me, I strive to take His grace to the nations. We all have a past. But what defines us is how we use our our future for Christ’s glory. I read recently in a book about how we ought to start living TODAY like it is our last day, because it could be. I don’t want to say, “tomorrow I will start sharing God with the nations.” I want to start saying, “How can I share Jesus with these people today?”  My time here in India has been one that God has used to...
