SERIOUSLY, God?

Over these past two weeks, there have been a lot of times I’ve found myself asking, “SERIOUSLY, God?” To be completely honest, things have just seemed too good to be true. I sit with my team of women in the sweltering heat, the smell of sour baby milk permeating the room (because at this point, that’s what most of us smell like 24-7), our bellies full of meals of fried dough, white rice and potatoes, drinking warm water, heat rash and mosquito bites covering our bodies, and I see them all continuing to PRAISE GOD. Despite the heat and the lack of comfort, the women...

Life in India

When you step out of America and into the third world, things that were once easy become a bit more…challenging. Finding toilet paper becomes an ordeal when the country you’re in doesn’t use it, clean drinking water has to be brought in, and internet is scarce. Our team headed out on Saturday, our “day off” from ministry, to get online to connect with friends and family. We got onto the computers and about 15 minutes later the power went off, a storm rolled in, and we took shelter until it passed and we could walk the 45...

We’re In India!!

Hey everyone, just wanted to let you know we are in India and doing great! We’ve spent the last couple days getting settled at our apartment and our ministry, getting to know the area, and playing with the most precious boys you’ve ever seen.   I’m posting this from an internet stick I am borrowing as we are still searching for internet, but expect blogs from each of the girls within the next few days!   Thank you for your prayers for us. Excited to share pictures and stories soon!

Made it Safely

We just spoke with the team leaders and they’ve all arrived safely in Calcutta. It’s currently Thursday morning from them so needless to say, they are quite tired. They are in route to their ministry site where they will be trying to catch up on some much needed rest as well as settling in these next few days and getting some orientation from their host.  Expect to see some blogs rolling out in the next few days as they find internet. Thanks for all the prayers for this team! The Passport field support team

Jai Ho!

Jai Ho! (Slumdog Millionare anyone?) I have probably said this phrase far too much without knowing what it actually means. Thankfully, the meaning didn’t turn out to be insanely offensive or inappropriate. The Hindi phrase Jai Ho basically translates to “Victory”. These past few days at training camp the idea of having victory has been a pervading theme in my own heart. When praying in preparation for India, I specifically desired that our team would be unified like the believers in Acts. Here’s the thing, the Holy Spirit has done some crazy work in bringing us all...

Give it all you got

Worship. There are many ways to do this. Holding your hands to the sky. Flat on the floor. Jumping up and down. Standing completely still. Swaying. Again, there are many ways. And God has been teaching me how to really praise Him! I needed to get over the whole, “What are they going to think of me? Are they gonna find me weird if I put my hands in the air or close my eyes as I am singing.” That is NOT why we worship our God. It’s not about what others will think of you. It’s not about ‘looking good.’ It’s about a one person audience. It’s...
